Note: Some athletes listed below may be considered excellent candidates for inclusion into the Sports Hall of Fame, it is just no one has nominated them. Some will undoubtedly be in the Hall some day but are still competing and are not eligible at this time. Several are trying to make it to the top level of competition in their sport and we are watching them. Please write us with any name we may have (unintentionally) left off the list.

ATHLETE:
Ben Bostrom (Redding): World Superbike top rider at one time. Former AMA Superbike and Supermoto champion.

Eric Bostrom (Redding): AMA Superbike top rider; World Superbike competitor; and Moto-X.

Chris Burns (Shasta College): 9 successful seasons (OG) in Canadian Football League. All-League twice.

Bob Emerson (Redding): U.S. Disabled Ski team 1985-89.

Greg Cadaret (Shingletown): Major League baseball pitcher for nine years.

Mia Camuso (Shasta High): Standout on the Univ. of Oregon Ducks softball team.

Nick Dunne (Redding): Top Professional Freestyle Motorcross rider.

Amanda Goyne (Redding): Alpine Ski Racing; 2003 WIDEX Sportswoman of the Year; 3 Gold medals at Deaflympics.

Doren Granberry (Redding): 1995 World Deaf champion in golf; Numerous team and national championships.

Cheridan Hawkins (Anderson): All-American softball pitcher at Oregon; USA National Team; Pro Fastpitch Dallas Charge.

Tom Hubert (Cottonwood): NASCAR driver, various levels - including Cup series.(Primarily road course)

Dalton Kelly (Foothill High): Seattle Mariners minor league organization.

Erick Lindgren (Burney): Professional Poker Player; 2008 WSOP Player of the Year.

Valanna McGee (Redding): Former world WBC ranked #4 professional women's Super Featherweight boxer.

Bobby McMullen (Redding): U.S. Disabled Ski team 1996-98; Mountain bike and adventure race competitor.

Rob Nairne (Born in Redding): NFL Linebacker with Broncos and Saints 1977 - 83.

Tim Nelson (Palo Cedro): State Champion; NCAA All-American: Team USA X-Country squad.

Matt Nichols (Redding): QB NFL Cowboys; CFL Edmonton Eskimos and Winnipeg.

Rachael Rapinoe(Foothill High): Played professional soccer for Stjarnan Icelandic team in 2010.

Joey Rickard (Born in Redding): Played MLB for Baltimore Orioles and San Francisco Giants.

Ken Shamrock (Shasta College): Legendary martial artist and UFC Champion. aka"World's most dangerous man".

Dan Shaw (Redding): U.S. World Cup Freestyle team 1990-1993.

Jordan Spears (Foothill High): 2014 PRCA World Championships Bullriding - 11th place overall.

John "Rocky" Stone (Redding): Pitched for 1943 Cincinnati Reds.

Danny Thurman (Redding): 1983 Jr. Nat. Champ Powerlifter; 2006 & 07 member of USA Bench Press World Team.

Kurt Wastell (Born in Redding): Former top competitor in slopestyle snowboard.

James Whalen (Shasta College): Three(3) seasons in NFL as a Tight End, primarily with Dallas.

Tiffanie Wright (Redding): 2004 Paralympian swimmer for USA.


COACH:
Scott Fairley (West Valley): Numerous League and Section cross country and track and field championships.

Don Williams (Anderson): Anderson High School and Simpson University wrestling coach; CA Wrestling HOF.

Sonny Stupek (Shasta College): 16 time GVC softball "Coach of the Year", 850 wins, and 15 GVC titles.

Leah and Carl McConnell (Redding): Since 1986 the McConnell Foundation has given generously to school athletic and community recreation for programs and facilities.

Ray Tufts (Anderson): Head Trainer for the San Jose Sharks hockey team; Athletic trainer for 9 years with 49ers.

Bill Wagner (Redding): Long-time "Babe Waxpack" syndicated columnist; Tireless community fundraiser.
